Welcome to the Carroll County Land Trust

Carroll County residents, Don't miss the opportunity to become one of the Carroll County residents who "kept the faith" with the County's rural heritage by participating in the "on-going mission" to permanently preserve at least 100,000 acres of land for the benefit of generations to come.

The County Goal - Permanent Preservation of 100,000 tillable acres of farmland

Beginning in 1980 and through the year 2005, by sheer dedication and perseverance, this achievable goal resulted in 50,000 acres of land being permanently preserved. Because, we the people of Carroll County simply cannot take another 25 years to preserve the additional 50,000 acres needed, we must accelerate and accomplish this goal by the end of the next decade, 2020, or it may be too late. It can be done, if you will help.

The Carroll County Land Trust sincerely hopes you will consider the possibility of creating an agricultural or conservation easement on your land.

Your local Land Trust stands ready to answer your questions and to assist in determining if you are eligible to take advantage of all the benefits associated with land preservation. It will be the next 350 landowners who permanently preserve their land that will bring us to the long established goal of preserving 100,000 acres of land for Carroll County’s Rural Legacy and it’s future generations.
